Lots of fans of your work. Good for you. But, from where I stand it doesnt say anything and you obviously cant draw. So, congrats on the nice site but you suck as an artist.

People are major assholes. Your art seems nice to me and not very "evil" so I guess I don't understand some of these comments. I guess the wholesome "good" people have nothing better to do than to be negative and nasty pieces of shit. Well, we see the state the country is in because of them so I figure they will get theirs soon enough.

Fuck, cool, excellent! have you ever thought of putting your work on toothbrushes and eggcups? if you did i would buy one and i would use it everyday and my teeth would be clean forever more! and i would use my egg cup everday to eat my breakfast so that i will grow up big and strong and be a healthy young person. I'm an artist too but i only ever clean my nose when i've sneezed and i never EVER pick my nose and eat it. I think that art is the best thing since sliced bread, although saying that toast rocks. i love you and rainbows and tulips and catterpillars and grannys....smile

Amazing how people can be so mean spirited and nasty in the face of someone who has the courage to do art and the work to display it. I bet these same dirty mouthed 'artists' likely turn around and support the status quo in every other way.. I think your work is wonderful to watch as it unfolds from 1996 to 2005. I particularly like your new 'untitled' on the 2005 page. Keep doing it Kelly!!! and don't let the bastards (and bitches) get you down!

Why isn't any of your old work on the site. You know, the work that looks nothing like what's up there now? The work you were copying before you started copying the people who originated your current "style"? I'll know what your "art" is going to look like in 5 years by looking at what's popular on ebay in 3 years. You'll be copying that. Ever done anything original? I already know the answer to that.

Your so-called art sucks...you should be ashamed to call yourself an artist. Not only that I would not be surprised if you were an ax murderer or maybe a devil worshipper (which is what most of the liberals in the world seem to want to make the heros) Also, I dont know how you get to show any paintings anywhere but the fact that you displayed work in a museum or art center just tells me that the state of art is pathetic!!! Please go away and let the REAL ARTIST get the attention they
deserve!!!

Finally some encouragement for this struggling artist, to see that your guestbook is as rich with envious detractors as it is compliments. I myself am somewhat of a raw artist - I use ground minerals in every color imaginable to make very textured paint. I have been fortunate to have a few works shown in a trendy restaurant in an area that is mostly upper class Baptist rednecks, and I am sorry to say that they are winning. My work is controversial and unacceptable in a town that only likes oil paintings of fruit bowls and waterfalls - though I have actually managed to get 15 minutes of local TV time for my work - my work is being taken down in favor of "Contemporary Rustic", in other words something that won't upset these dried out country club biddies. I am so far an unwelcome upset to the comfortable world of art in Highlands, NC, and they are doing their damnedest to keep me out, but when I see my fellow artistic insophisticates out there pushing like I am, I know I have to keep going. I have reviewed your entire site and your blog. You probably will not post this entry in your guest book, but I agree with those of your critics who have pointed out the vast discrepancy in size between your ego and your talent. You seem to have a seed of talent, but are too caught up in your self-portayal as a "tortured artist," rejecting the "establishment," etc., etc. A news flash for you - it's been done before, and better, by Van Gogh and Gauguin! Why don't you drop the cliches, practice some humility, and take some art lessons? In one of your blog posts, you claim you are selling everything you own and hitting the road, perhaps to Louisiana. Are you going to shut down your site and sell your computer too? I doubt it!!!!! Listen, while you're in Louisiana, why not check out www.noafa.com? Afraid of a little criticism? Or putting forth effort? was submitted by Frederic Kerlerec, New Orleans, LA on Monday, August 16, 2004 at 10:57:52

Hi there Kelly! I bought one of your pieces 2 years ago. It was a bit different from your other work at the time, more raw and more abstract....a bit more introspective. Your most recent work has now moved in that same direction, less literal, purely pictoral, and much more rich in texture, layering and abstraction. There is an influence of Basquiat, DuBuffet, and a wonderful fresh similarity to a little known artist named Gus Finkelstein, whose work is also incredible. But now I can!Hitler's mindless self-righteous minions labeled the works of Munch, Picasso, Kolwitz, and Van Gogh as "depraved" and "degenerate", and of course "child-like". Boy, were they stupid idiots! The "academics" of Paris at the turn of the century labeled the work of Manet, Pissaro, Monet, Degas, and Renoir as "amateurish" and "child-like" Their art has not only outlived the artists, but also those bozo self-described, self-righteous critics. Why are people so afraid of new thought or new ideas? Our country is filled with such mindless know-nothing Nazis who think art should be the schlocky, schmaltzy crap that is produced by that "painter of light", Thomas Kinkaid. It appeals to people who think real art is sold in Sears. They have no idea what art is, how it reflects our society and our feelings, not just what we see. They are mistaking "craft" for vision, originality, spontaneity, and self-expression. They've also NEVER set foot in a museum...just their fat lazy asses into barcaloungers. But history is their judge. With the works of Pollack, DeKooning, Basquiat, Klein, Rothko, DuBuffet and many other abstract and raw artists selling in the millions, the art of their traditional "masters" sells as cheap posters in malls. And that's where that type of stuff belongs: in Double-wides.I have watched the progression of your pieces and artwork from your first days on the internet (yes, ebay), and I'm very impressed with your evolution as an artist and your expression of your insights onto canvas.By the way, I am an artist also. But I am also a professional architect and a professional interior designer. Fuck these so-called "critics" who know nothing about art...they are amateurs. And if they think what you or I do is easy, they should put their "talent" where their loud mouths are, and create something themselves.... it's harder than they childishly think. And it is also easier for them to talk because they themselves lack the ability or creativity to "do". So, Kelly, keep DOING. Larry was submitted by Larry D. But I suppose they console themselves with the notion that they are more "sophisticated" and "artistic" than me and the other HONEST critics; it makes them feel better about themselves and their own pathetic lack of the true talent, patience, and dedication necessary to create genuine art! Hi Kelly! I have been working as a professional illustrator for several years. My work has been purchased by clients worldwide, I have been featured in several design/illustration annuals and I have won some pretty fancy awards. Although illustation is more commercial than art you still need a sense of colour, form and aestetichs. (And I do paint on the side also) Im only telling this to give some idea of my level of experience and background for having opinions on your work. And I dare say it's brilliant! You are a TRUE artist and to all the envious wannabe and obviously unsucessfull "artists" out there who dare to say otherwise I recommend that they go screw themselves. Or - simply realize that the level of hatred they seem to feel towards your work and success probably steems from beeing untalented themselves. Attending artschool does NOT automatic make you an artist! Neither does beeing able to draw naturalistic. The whole point of artschools is to teach basics so that you can evolve and create your OWN UNIQE STYLE. Some people express a unique style naturally AKA autodidacts. As for that lameass Ben quote; some of the worlds greatest writers have never attended writing classes or majored in english (or their native language) Does that make them fools?! was submitted by Nina - Norway () on Monday, August 2, 2004 at 07:29:34

Frankly, your "art" is worthless, tasteless trash. If it "says" anything at all, it says, "Look at me! I'm a wannabepseudo-artist, like that no-talent dopehead Basquiat." Just remember what Benjamin Franklin said, "He that teaches himself hath a fool for a master." Old Ben hit the nail on the head in your case!
