when i first startd painting

i thought

geez im gonna be a fancy modern artist

but before i knowd it

folks was calling me names that kinda didnt speak towards

what i thought was my sophisticated approach to modern contempt orary art

ive been called folk artist more times than i care to admit

which leans on that saying that goes something like

you can take the boy out of arkansas

but you cant take the arkansas out of him
