Hi Billy
im gonna miss u at the flea
u always had a smile
and a kind word as well
didnt expect u to pass
to the other side
so soon
but really anyone who works at the flea
knows that things change fast
so if theres a big market
on the other side
knockem out with those
great fotographs
the wolf the horse and the strange beauty of the west
u captured in your frames
RIP Billy
im in arkansas watching traffic
and a few chickn trucks
piled high with
mctenders….
mostly arkansas is a rural state
run thru with churches
wall mart and college football
but the commmodification
and amplification
of commerce is fierce here
mostly in shopping malls
and strip centers full of faux italian
sandwich shops in a metal building veneers
but who can blame folks for wanting to make a living
(only 2 generations away from being a hill billy in a log cabin with no running water will do u like that)
and by god im rite there with them
on paying bills
but really
how long can endless mindless growth go on?
its all run on dead dinosaur dreams
even my paints are oil based
and thats prolly why i love the desert so much
the land is completely utterly indifferent
to what we as humans do
to ourselves
even the gas clouds we throw up
will mostly just exterminate ourselves
as the desert will go on
just as surely as the sun
will rise

12×9 on paper
remember
if u carry
fire
in one hand
and a hammr in the other
your hands are full
and running can
become more difficult
