"Maud is completely obsessed by postal sacks and has spend many years giving this forgotten fabric a new life. Her designs (that might be called "Tim-Burtonnesque") show little girls torturing, garroting, smashing and killing cats, rabbits and chicken, begin as bas relief paintings. The end products are strange doll figures that she makes exclusively by hand, including Mexican Milagros ("GriGri") and embroidered French sayings that are genuilely strange.
