man vs squirrel

 

my love

was at my side  

indeed eye was trying to be  

her white indian guide  

as eye took her

to an ancient place

that was  

surely indian holy land

swimmin in ghosts from long past

that would surely scare

the average man

but me being so brave   

and all eye led her

fear less lee  

down the

clearly marked trail  

when suddenly  

straight out of somewhere

a rat  or maybe a baby bear

came walking up the trail   (yes, i sayd walking)  

as it approached

eye figured

once it saw my size  

indeed my fierce eyes

surely it would turn

and climb the nearest treee

but no  a squirrel with black edged ears  

walked rite past us  

not more than 2 foot

from my left foot...  

at this point  

i admit i was relieved   

eye had protected the maidens honor

from the horrible squirrel  

but then it occurred to me  

that nasty animal

had taken me on man vs squirrel so eye turned

hoping for

another joust

and saw  

the black eared squirrel

about 50 foot past us  

still just walking down the path  (maybe it was going to the snack shak)  

and eye said to the maiden  

"i think that damn squirrel challenged my man hood"    

and  

at that exact moment  

as though that black eared squirrel had super hearing

with those  black edged ears  

it stopped in the path  

turned and stood up

and looked rite at me  

and  

eye swear i heard it say  

"freakin tourist......."
