Ive been a fan of outsider art for sometime and I dont if you are categorizable but after seeing some of the poser outsiders or "visionary" artists like Anne Grgich of my hometown or even someone who claims to be an outsider artist (and then is represented by some highflying New York art gallery as well)I can definitely say I think you are a true artist. Keep up the good work and hope to be out to New Mexico again next fall. was submitted by Jack Thompson, Seattle on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 8:35am kelly you are THE shit. i freaking LOVE your art and your dark birds in the snow and your rant to those slimey mattress salesmen those dirty bastards......... was submitted by marisu, tulsa, ok on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:57pm Send me an art card and i will take a pic. was submitted by Ginger, Houston,Texas on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:20am Stunning black bird artwork mixed with the photgraphy. (would love just one closeup of your face for once) was submitted by Chris, Oak Harbor on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 9:51am You must tell us which company sold you this mattress so we can avoid it. It's part of the ranting deal. was submitted by Jen, Santa Fe on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 9:12am At first when I read the 'dear moma", I read that you could "hit that guy big time" and I thought that sounded about right but when I reread it - correctly the second reading, I was wrong. You ment if you could meet that guy you could hit "it" big time. But it still looked to me like someone should be hit. anyway it made me smile. was submitted by patty, in the desert on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 2:34pm “She-woolf LaCyanna stood alone in a wilderness of the two-leggeds, far from her pack the journey had taken her. If they won't give you one, a show, you can have a feature page on my site http://www.karl-maenz.com Please let me know Karl was submitted by Karl Maenz, Mont-Pelerin Switzerland on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:27pm INCREDIBLE! one of the tremendous things artists do is to express parts of ourselves that the average person CAN NOT EXPRESS in their daily life. in KELLY i see the truth in brokeness and how to have the courage to express it. kelly is a "crack-pot" , opening the way to the knowledge of existence. a very very difficult way of being, but one we instinctively realize thru great artists, sportspeople etc.. the struggle for truth and existence often seem contradictory, so most of the time we settle for the pablum offered by the burger kings of culture. we ARE the NWO. without us they couldnt exist on this plain. apparently it is also true of the "devil"- and "god". hey kelly, write to me. love to all. was submitted by william meyer, expat in south america on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 8:44am Hey, Kelly, it would be so cool if you had a Facebook fan page so I could pimp your work, I LOVE it! was submitted by Jennifer Kirkpatrick, Northborough on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 8:35am Hey Kel, Great chattin at the flea last weekend or before????Love the site, the art & the rants. Your big oily Land Sea and Air is now stretched, framed and a hanging. Takes up the whole freaking wall and I love it! My pleasure to have met a "free" artist who spells liek u. Your work knocked me and Pat out. We attended that big national oil painters of America art exhibition and conference at the Sage Creek Gallery for some free wine cheese and fine snobbery and didn't see anything better than your art dood. Maybe cause I'm Scotch Irish too and still crazy after sooo many years I am drawn to your work. Cya next time out maybe this fall. Regards, Judy was submitted by Judy, Santa Fe on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 9:28am A delight to meet you and your work at the flea today, and then a gluttonous inspiration to scroll through your formidable collection of quips. I can't believe I read the whole thing, either, but am waiting to see what it does in my dreams tonight. Thank you for ever pushing the ever-expanding envelope of your universe, and thus everyone's. A dirty job but someone's gotta do it. Just keep listening and continue to ignore irrelevant comments about hues, tones, and the picture plane. On the third hand, you've made it quite clear no one should confuse Outsider with Naive so you can learn as much as you damn well please about manipulating what the viewer experiences. Keep up the good work and feel loved. was submitted by Lucy Cornwell, Pojoaque, NM on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 9:26pm Last time I looked carefully at your work was 2005...you have vastly improved (evolved may be the better word). I literally laughed out loud about the sissy and dolls page and I wish you would have put a photograph of yourself in there that wasn't all smeared up! The painting on page 63 is beautiful, I love it ... and I think your spider art was charming (for a spider anyway, sooo not a fan). Too bad it didn't go over well. I see some folks in there have horns, and some have upside down crowns ... hmmm, pret-ty telling. Its way past time for you to still be thinking all women are angels, but I have to admit, I never thought you a devil. Devil-ish, maybe. Your put a lot into your paintings - I could look at one again tomorrow and still find a new little detail I missed today. The MMoMA museum sure doesn't like you very well ... but no less than I expect from a guy who apparently can get a person so riled up that they burn up his car! I've been following your art/writing for a few years (and cherish my crows!) but seeing the paintings and words together just has incredible, alchemical impact. Your passion is clear, and awe-inspiring. Thank you for sharing these pieces of yourself and shining your light on the fact that sometimes it's much more about the moment and the impulse than the plan. So forget the oatmeal, I think I'll have a bad-for-me chocolate donut for breakfast...just because. was submitted by Ms. Jez, Hell's Kitchen on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 7:18am Your email made me smile today and I like to smile! was submitted by scott woodard, Houston, TX on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 12:49pm Raaaaarrrrrrr. was submitted by T, Dover, NH on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 11:11am a note to the artist ~ kelly The premise of your book is intriguing and has me asking what if . . . so many distinct yet same/different notions fused together and the ingenuity is awesome ~ your words are beyond sufficiently different from anybody elses . . If there were a room ~ it would be a nice place to explore . . . And thats just the words ~ Your art and words combine to expel the idea that language and art do not complement one another Or that one draws away from the other They are feisty and compelling and prove that a love affair exists between them and that Sin leads to redemption ~ possibly the best idea ever to erupt from the insanity of any religion Unlike most writing ~ your theme is anything but dull What is best about the book is it allows a sidelong glance into the thoughts of an extraordinarily compelling man thank you for this rivers of best wishes nancy jo was submitted by nancyjo, bridgeton on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 6:04pm if you understand the difference between love and sanity buy the book the pages of Eruption are lined with passion insight and extraordinary vision who said words and art cannot dance they combine into a compelling tango in kelly's book if you wonder where the magic went Eruption the magic is in the words ~ it is in the absence of fear of color in the paintings the magic is in the brutal confrontation of everything we fear it is remarkable nancyjo was submitted by nancyjo, bridgeton on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 5:35pm Just got your book - and i must say, i was familar with your art, but the poetry was new to me. Anyone could do this after two months of art practice and most could do better." Quoted from below ! In fact art is not "proper" art which it why it is called outsider art. It is outside normal art convention. Kelly Moore admits to producing some shit but when I look at other Outsiders only Lyle Carbajal is worth looking at. If Kelly Moore has only 10 good works(and he does) then that is 10 more than 99% of other Outsider Artists. was submitted by Artist, UK on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 4:19pm here's my poem of mesa verde for you--i could barely see, it was just past dusk. a striped, smoke-bottomed puddy-tat glided past my foot, looking for a hotdog with mustard. quietly, it sniffed around my tent as i held my breath. please, i prayed, don't share your perfume... i am going to let myself have more fun with my website cause yours is awesome. ty www.villaparkhearts.com was submitted by Angelina Chica, Olympia on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 8:22pm Sorry but this is not art. Your best stuff was 2005 and you should return to this theme. You are taking too many diversions in the pursuit of originality. You established originality in 2005.Just keep producing the same ilk ,like many artists do.Look at Francis Borg ; Great artist , same format all the time.Repetition is no sin. Thereare plenty of people who buy the paintings if they are consistent within a theme. You got great talent; don't piss it on sticking bone to canvas. was submitted by An Artist, on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 3:19pm I think your art is horrible and as I am a "real" artist myself I think its because of terrible artist like yourself that keep the real artist from being successful. This is like saying, if you want to be a professional boxer ,you must not follow any technique of previous great boxers. I see in Kelly Moore's work a reflection of Jean Dubuffet. "Amateur" is an example of this idea. However, the execution of the work is nothing other than brilliant ; a masterpiece of Raw Art. Kelly Moore has done the best in art and that is to borrow and then to ad originality . was submitted by James Sutherland, South Shields , Newcastle upon Tyne ,UK on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 2:32am WOW!!... another artist told me to check you out.... I gape; child-like in wonder, at a creation before me that evokes emotion beyond words. It may sound trite or cliché, but it's true. Good art requires no words to supplement its existence. To summarize or critique good art, well... one might as well stand on tip-toe and try to pluck the clouds from the sky. So with the few words I’ve spent here I will encourage others to come back to this place, and look, and keep looking. And Kelly, I encourage you exuberantly, to keep creating... Some of it reminds me of more simplified Basquiat, and yes, raw. You are a true soul who doesn't paint things to match somebody's couch. ya know there are a lot of things in this world that plain baffle me and i must admit that the kellybashers in the guest book are one of them... Your artwork is, by far, the worse I have ever seen. The shit that comes for my ass is worth more then this worthless piece of SHIT. Really now. Haven't you fucked up abstract artists realize there is nothing one bit special about this hunk of smelly shit ...? How dare you call yourself an artist? Dont sweat the jealous sorts out there Kelly...they are usually anonymous and probably never have made a piece of art in their life. Your art is strong. was submitted by Carl, Munich, Germany, on Tuesday, June 24, 2006 at 21:31:34 If you ain't got something nice to say.. why say something in the 1st place? It's art for Christsake... feedback (even negative) is good as long as you back it up and help the artist evolve. Surely the work of a madman. was submitted by (a nother Mad man) on Monday, November 14, 2005 at 1:32:30 Hello,my name is Jan I had an opportunity to see your works and i have to say it's realy fantastick!I Enjoy your sites very much.I wish you a good luck. www. hi kelly. i am not going to dis your art or anything like that. but what i'd really love to see on your site is a little comparison between what you CAN do and what you CHOOSE to do, know what i mean? i mean, we all know that picasso's style evolved as he became more and more well-known and respected, we know that he became more instinctive and basically just decided to do his own thing because everything he did looked great anyway and it was already established by his earliest work that he was a genius, incredibly skilled and imaginative and original. he was able to draw realistically and very capable of creating paintings with classical compositions and detailed realism etc. so, clearly you can paint in an abstract kind of seemingly senseless and formless way, but do you have the ability to actually draw and do something beyond what everyone else can do, which is express yourself creatively? because if not, it's very unsettling that you have managed to make! a good living at this while so many skilled painters are struggling to. what's up with that? is that like the young cute pop star who has no knowledge of music becoming filthy rich and famous while the man who can play ten different instruments and write his own music can't get a record deal to save his life? hmmmmm............... was submitted by ( Natalie) on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at 22:54:08 Great site Kelly. Good luck. submitted by Sava, Bulgaria, Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 12:39:48 Good site! Paola www.trevisanarte.com Wow, Kelly – double take! I am glad I gave you “my instinctive” impression on the works posted on your home page and, did not have a chance to read the guest book. I truly wonder "if or/and how" my opinion would have been influenced!? It appears you have managed to create some kind of a raucous controversy... Which is what is causing me to get back to you. Most people are terrified of their dark side. We all have one. Everything has one. Where there is light, there is shadow… Etc., etc., etc..Personally, mine was really “unpleasant” for myself to live with. So, I have decided a long time ago, to focus and develop the “light” side of me, which still did not manage to avoid controversy and criticism. Living creatively - outside the box does that to one, no matter what!I felt a need to share with you this passage from the Man of la Mancha himself…(as I have recalled it many times since my teens) don Quixote: Are the dogs barking Sancho? Then, we are moving!(Perhaps you could find some time to visit my sites: mischiefangel.blogspot.com and almapathadventures.blogspot.com)The best to you. Do not let anyone tamper with your “soul stamina”. submitted by Alicia () on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 14:20:16 Hello, I was introduced (on line) to your work about a year ago or so...it is nice to see a more playful-light side of you coming through... "Integraton" and self-acceptance is hard work. Niiice! I love your work. I went to art school, The School of the Art Institute at Chicago. For awhile, I couldn't paint because I was robbed momentarily of my spontaniety and creativity. I now paint like I used to paint before art school. Thank goodness! My work is considered Outsider Art, which makes me proud. Went back to my roots! You can see my work at cafepress.com/123art. Soon, my site will be completed hopefully by August 30, 2005. It's called www.hungonart.com It's not up yet. How much are your pieces? People that insult your paintings have no concept of art in my opinion. You are creative and paint from the soul. This is a true artist! Good work! Your work so great! All the best for you! Best regards. http://www.rustam.name/ loved your work and your dedication to the cause !! complimenti er il sitoI più vivi ringraziamenti per la vostra collaborazione, con l'augurio di una proficua e duratura carriera. Con l'augurio che la tua vita futura sia costellata solo di soddisfazioni. > volevo uno scambio banner se per lei non e un problema grazie > www.maestrocascella.com Hey Kelly, fabulous stuff. very original and emotional. Keep it coming. Heloo i woundred if you are intrested to put my webbsite on our webbsite, www.ceciliak.com > greetings /Cecilia Hi there Kelly Moore! Lovely work!!! It reminds me of my healing art and writing journey. Only I am only a few years behind you. Best of luck in Ohio in September. Kelly, it sounds like this Anne heifer is good advertising for you. Hope you're loving Sante Fe and playing pretty with the locals. :) Alway love seeing a productive and successful artist. The rawness of your work is an inspiration. It masks the wide range of your technical ability in applying paint, which is also a joy to behold. Very emotive work. Totally love the paintings!!! :-) You are the genuine RAW artist. Pure genius. Stay pure to your vision. Dude, the best think anyone can do is to stay away from the "art" crowd. To many times have i seen people start being influenced by "the group" and not just doing what they want or feel. A man can be an island...and it ain't so bad. Sounds like this "Anne" is all pent up. I bet if you two ever got together, it would be like one of those classic movies where you wind up in the sack and in love. just my 2 cents top Secret agent Maxwell Smart reporting from the Raw Vision outsider art discussion group that artist Anne Grgich kicked you out of (is she still spamming your guestbook? She seems to spend more time at your site than the Raw Vision thing. Me wonders...does she make art or just run the forum and the the brownnosers ?...now the rumor circulating in the group of spys is that she emailed you an apology, invited you to join the group again and compared you to Matt Lamb and Joe Coleman. Are you going to post that email she sent you? The irony of you being kicked out of that outsider artist group is so think I can cut it with great work! best regards. kuba Your art really sucks. I know because its obvious you don't have talent or a brain. And I might add your web site could have been designed by a 10 year old. I would recommend you go back to real estate or get a job at 7-11 where they are hiring all sorts of disabled folks. Fantastic site very smooth and easy to use with fantastically things to see, Karl Downing What a wonderful website many thanks just stoppin' by to say hello! it's been awhile. you're a painting mad man! i actually agree with that guy a few posts ago about pos/neg balance. i'm sure kelly would agree, that his shit ain't for everyone! hahaha!!!... okay, that really wasn't that funny, at all. ;p so uh, yeah, here i am and here's my text. oh, yeah, i got one of those emails from that anne woman too! too busy to join such a group. i thought about it for a second and then it went away. she was calling you bad words and it made me wonder... why? why is kelly such a bad artist man? why? oh My website is www.rongiii.com Have had more than 25 incaserations since 1978. Now i am away from crashs for 5 yrs after spending 2 yrs in British Columbia.Your work looks non contemporary which is coming through slowly as the big god of Modernism crushes anyone different...........ron giii Kvery expressive work ,nice! greetings http://patrickvanschaijk.exto.nl submitted by Patrick van Schaijk [Holland/europe] (pvs9@hotmail.com) on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 03:39:52 Kelly - your work is mesmerizing. It's childlike yet complex. I looked at them all and kept thinking that I wish they weren't sold. Keep up the good work. You won me over as a fan. Amazinig how your most aggresive critics seem to be the type of folks who think the kind of art that furnishes many a Best Western suite is the only "real" art. I was once lucky enough to see an exhibition of Adolf Hitler's art collection in Weimar, Germany. Herr Fuerher clearly shared the same love of "real" art. He also fancied himself a champion of truth; will parallels never cease? To be fair, i am making virtually groundless assumptions about these people's aesthetic penchants. Some of them seem to like Picasso alot, i imagine relligious art, too (somehow i'm missing the whole "evil" thing in your work, infact, i think your piece love the work - very nice indeed. HI Kelly . Your works are very good. So i add your link to my web page (www.onston.8m.com) bye... Hi Kelly...I read the post about Anne Grgich spamming your guestbook with hysterical laughter. Im in that Raw Vision group that she kicked you out of a few years ago. And I remember that whole sheebang well. So, its pretty ironic that she snoops around your site pulling email addys off your guestbook...Raw Vision and Anne Grgich are so bought and sold they dont really know a thing about what a true "outsider" really is....Im not saying you are either but I know one thing for damn sure, you arent represented by any fancy pants gallerys, and your not some important magazines pet artist and you dont charge a gillion dollars for your art The main thing that comes to mind is...."wow" the people who run to "defend" this guys art or add positive comments after someone leaves an honest "negetive" comment are delusional......stop making statements about other negetive comments....its an opinion....and that is ALL art is ....an opinion...if someone thinks this guy sucks...guess what? he sucks! if you think he is fvckin' Picasso....guess what? he's freakin' Picasso! positive and negetive can live together......it's called balance...seems to me this dude who paints these pictures has an idea of the concept....why can't his "minions" of Hi Kelly, Great work. Keep doing your thing. Lori has been criticised by artist who paint by the numbers with projectors. However the spiritualist keep contacting her pointing out the spirits in her paintings. Check out Lori's work at http://www.lorigeiger.com Kelly, an artist named Anne Marie Grgich is spamming your guestbook. She contacted me saying she got my email address from the guest book and said some nasty things about you and then asked me to join her Raw Vision group. She must like your art though....it sounds like she spends alot of time on your site! Kelly. You are an inspiration. Please don't listen (as if you would !) to the critics. Just keep on doinge your think. I get my strength at soloartwork.com from the way you respond to the critics with even more super pieces. keep them coming...... highly vibrant and impulsive work well done! check out www.shurmanart.com The Outsider Art or the unfamiliar name of Exile. The nameless colours remain and kill! Would you please do a Clay Aiken nude? I'd trade ya my SpongeBob lunchbox for it. :) Geat site ! i'll be back ! Ever since we exchanged links I have become fascinated with outsider art. I think I am liking it much better than art school graduate art. Your art includes your feelings and emotions. Art school graduate art is so perfected and studied looking and is boring in my opinion. I have decided to give abstract outsider art a try and I am really enjoying it. And if people don't like outsider art then they can just go look at the bowls of fruit that the art school graduates are painting. Don't ever
Isn't something good if we enjoy looking at it? Well I am no expert but I like looking at your work so that means it is good. So there!! I think your art is HORSESHIT!!! No, wait - that's an insult to my horse L.J. If what you make is art, then L.J. just made a f---ing MASTERPIECE!!! Whoo hoo! :-P I like your style. No holds barred. Really "out there" Fun to look at. Colorful. Thought provoking, and, isn't that what art should do? art is only thing that cure ourself. good! Hi Kelly,I like your free brushwork and the use of colour...Keep going ; ) Hi, I am Tourism student who likes surfing and travelling around the world. I visit alots of places in Peru, so i can tell you the food is great we have great beaches north of lima, like mancora, chicama, pacasmayo with great waves chicama has for me the longest wave in the world, 43 kilometers south of lima you can find pico alto with waves from 8 to 10 meters. The good news is: In my expert opinion I like your view of art. The bad news is I'm a life model.. If you can become famous doing paintings this bad I think Im going to start painting. These people on your guestbook are about as talented as you are. I think you paint like Britney Spears. Maybe not that good. You definitely are not Picasso. I'm rather surprised at the ire your work has invoked in a few people. My guess is that they have their pretty MFA's from art school and were brain washed by academia to think that art "movements" are what art is about. I do see the resemblance to Karel Appel and Basquiat. So what. Show me any artist's work and I'll show you another artist whose work it resembles. There is no such thing as progress in art, and originality is an illusion created by the viewer's ignorance. But originality isn't the point. Your work is terribly powerful. I had a "holy shit" moment when I saw it. That's the point, damnit. Outsider my ass--you're right on
ho visto i tuoi nuovi quadri, complimenti per l'originalità. un saluto marco Follow your dreams....you can achieve your goals....I am living proof....BEEFCAKE!
